ECG MD Meets All District ‘A’ Managers

The Managing Director, Ing. Samuel Boakye-Appiah has met with all ECG District ‘A’ managers, in Ho, in the Volta Region. The meeting, the first of its kind, which took place on April 13, 2007, was held to deliberate on challenges facing the Company, and to find holistic solutions to resolving them.

Welcoming participants to the Region, the Volta Regional General Manager, Ing. Joseph Forson admonished the Managers to make the rare opportunity of a direct interaction with the MD, worthwhile. “Hardly are we offered an opportunity to interact and present corporate issues of concern directly to the MD. You represent your colleague DMs who are not here, so work with the collective interest of all and together let us deliberate on solutions to our common challenges.”

Explaining the purpose of the meeting, the Managing Director, Ing Samuel Boakye-Appiah described the encounter as part of his ongoing interactions and conferment with various groups in the Company. “I am undertaking broad based discussions with staff and staff groups at all levels in the Company. This is to afford me, a closer understanding of the challenges and expectations of the workforce of this institution”. The MD further urged members to freely air their challenges and suggest innovative ways they believed such challenges could be resolved.

Issues raised by the District Managers included inadequate human resources, ICT challenges, and other petty operational challenges. Timelines were agreed on to deal with, and resolve the identified challenges. A follow up meeting is scheduled for June, 2017.

In all, about thirty five (35) District ‘A’ Managers from all of ECG’s operational areas were present. Also present during the encounter were the Director of Human Resources, Lawyer Lawrence Osei-Kufour, and the Head of Public Relations, Mr. William Boateng.
